Extracurricular activities at high school are often considered an unnecessary addition to the students’ life. Though studying and getting knowledge and skills are the primary tasks of every conscientious student gaining positive experience is not confined to the studies within the walls of university lecture-rooms. Any activity a student deals with apart from studies, brings diversity in his/her scope of interests and develops his/her social skills somehow.

1.Participating in a university sports team will not only help you to keep fit but also stand up for your college at sports competition.

2.Job – whether volunteer or paid, year-round or season – can help you define your goals and prospects for future career, get work experience and employ the knowledge you’ve got to the concrete situations of life – and certainly it may also help you earn means to pay for your studies and sustain yourself.

3.Being involved in the students’ self-government provides a great chance to develop your leader’s potential and take a proactive position.

4.Being a member of a learning society may develop your research skills and improve your knowledge in the disciplines you are interested in.

5.Volunteer community service will also bring you indispensable experience. It may be pleasant and interesting too.

6.Taking part in a drama society or editorial staff of a faculty newspaper or a may also be of use. Some students have even connected their subsequent professional career with their extracurricular activities.

If you have a wide range of interests and enough time you may try your hand in a few spheres – the important thing here is to choose the activities you really like. If you take too many you may fail to cope with them all. So be sure to have enough activities to keep you interested but not too much to be a success in all of them.

Graduation from college often signifies the beginning of the graduate’s independence but does not obviously mean the end of the studies. Many graduates apply for post-graduate study. The reasons why one decides to go for post-graduate education can be various.

Why Do They Apply for Master’s Degree?

Many students aim at gaining the master’s degree to improve their command of the discipline they learn and to get more experience in the field of their studies, others use this opportunity to learn a wider spectrum of disciplines. One more advantage the post-graduate study brings is gaining more chance to find a well-paid job. These are the most common reasons why students become applicants for a master’s degree.

Is It Necessary to Get a Doctorate?

Continuing your post-graduate education and applying for a doctor’s degree can also be of use for making your way up. But it is not essential for those who are not going to dedicate their life to science and do not dream about academic career. Some people incline to believe that PhD will help them make a better career or consider they might become college lecturers. In fact, there is much more PhD students than lecturers, and what the employers need from you is not your doctorate but first and foremost your work experience. So if you are going to apply for a doctor’s degree, ask yourself whether you really need it. Evaluate all the pros and cons of your getting PhD and think over its necessity. If your plans for future do not make getting the degree essential and you do not find it really important for your future, it might be a better decision to confine your education to the master’s degree or at least to continue your study later.

Fraternities and sororities are often mentioned in the modern American literature and movies. They seem to gain more and more popularity. The candidates for membership pass a kind of initiation – different in different organizations – after which they actually become the members of the organization. What do we know about this procedure?

Brethren and Sistren

So what is the challenge the newbie generally has to take to enter the community? This is a hard task. The new members are to stay on probation for about 5 months during which every candidate becomes practically a slave of their fraternal society. First they get a nickname – some can be very offensive, but you have no right to reject it and obviously have to mention it while introducing yourself. Then you learn the regulations and history of your fraternity/sorority by heart and master the dress-code and some rules existing in it. Each applicant gets some duties they must do for next five months. If you violate the rules, make a mistake or don’t cope with your task the punishment follows. The punishments are various – from eating a few onions and to being flogged with a special bat. But this is not the hardest time for the members to be.

All Hope Abandon Ye Who Enter Here

The final week of probation is called the Hell Week – it’s the time of final challenge, which the new members are to survive. During this week the chapter house becomes a prison for those few left from the crowd of applicants. The conditions are really hell – the future member of the Greek letter organization may not leave the house, sleep, bathe or change for five days. They are tested and punished for mistakes, they eat the same food each day during the week. Only those who endure the challenge to the end enter the fraternity/sorority.

When designing publicity for your company including a logo or any other type of written material, most are aware of the importance of such things as colour, distribution or content. However, few consider the importance that the font or style that such writing could have on the effectiveness of the publicity at hand. Whilst it is not always high up on the list of 'musts' during the design process, it is an essential part to any potential publicity campaign.

It is worth remembering famous publicity campaigns to appreciate the association on the chosen font with the product. A serious insurance company, for example is not going to have the same font on their leaflets or television advertisements as a fun children’s snack. Such anomalies would throw the customer and confuse them when trying to establish the type of product being advertised. There must be consistency between the type of product you are hoping to sell and the font you choose to employ.

It is therefore worthwhile talking it over with your leaflet delivery company before contracting their services. Ensure it is a reputable company that can offer you the necessary advice in relation to these issues so as to guarantee you are getting more for your money then the simple distribution of whatever you present them with. Not only should you receive leaflet delivery for your money, but also professional advice on just how to present it.

It is said that rounded or shaped edged fonts produce distinct relaxation and calmness in the reader and should therefore be employed to sell pleasure related products such as wedding paraphernalia or chocolate, whereas sharp edged fonts represent a more serious product such as medical insurance or dental work.

At Mailbox Nationwide we offer a number of leaflet or flyer distribution services with professional advice to meet all our customers’ needs.

It a well known fact that becoming self employed has its risks. Although it shows great courage on one part, it also exposes the areas where one may lack expertise. If you are planning to open your dream business, it might be worthwhile reading the following tips:

• Love it – You will really need to work at whatever it is you decide to open if it is to work so make sure it is something you really love. Passion will often do a lot more for a business than pouring money into it.

• Stay employed – Although this often means working all the hours available to you, it is well worthwhile maintaining your day job whilst trying to get your business off the ground. There will always be time to give this job up in the future and it will always be something to fall back on should things not work out as planned.

• Don’t go it alone – Even the bravest and most independent of people need some sort of support network. Nothing ever goes so smooth that you will not need someone to rely on. Even if it is not an active business partner, you should have someone there, perhaps a family member should things not turn out for the best.

• Good publicity – Once the internal workings of the business have been thought through, a good leaflet distribution company is important in order to spread the word. Be sure to choose a company with a history of flyer delivery so as to ensure your publicity falls into the right hands. Whichever company you choose they should advise you on how to go about choosing colours and designs for a more effective outcome.

At Mailbox Nationwide we have a number of leaflet delivery options to suit all business needs.

Medigap plan D details and coverage

Medigap insurance is the other name of Medicare supplement insurance plan and it is an additional policy where a plan is taken in accordance to the original medicare policy which takes care of the additional expense plans not covered by Medicare health care policy plan. Medigap policies are not available unless the purchaser has his existing medicare policy. The rules and regulation of Medigap insurance policies are monitored by state and Federal laws but these Medigap insurance plans are marketed by different Medicare supplemental insurance companies and therefore the premium rates for a single plan, for example plan-D, can differ from one service provider to another.

Out of 12 Medigap insurance plan a few plans are considered as widely popular and almost available in almost US states. Plan D is one of them, which has earned immense popularity due to its reasonable premium cost but great coverage. People, who feel the premium rate of plan F a bit costly, select for the plan D for enhanced coverage of existing Medicare plan with the extensive support of Medigap Plan D.

Let’s see what the prime points of Medigap insurance D plan are.
There are basic benefits as per the coverage schedule of Medicare Part A program. Other facilities of this insurance plans are Medicare Part A hospital deductible, skilled nursing home facility avail, health emergency expenses during foreign travel, and at-home recovery expense reimbursement benefits.

At-home recovery clause covers issues like activities related to daily living necessities like bathing, dressing of the wounds, in case of post-surgical care provided you are entitles to get skilled home care coverage by your original Medicate insurance policy. The coverage list under at0home care category covers an extra span of eight weeks after you no more require skill care assistance and a reimbursement facility for $40 per visit per week basis or $1600 lump sum at annual basis.

In a nutshell Medigap plan D is one of the most standalone plans which includes drug coverage for those having enrolment in Medicare plan D by May 15, 2006, because it had an allowance to switch over in an another Medigap plan that has no coverage allotment for prescription drug. Recipients selecting for retention of a Medigap insurance plan with drug coverage after May 15, 2006 will have no statutory right to switch off in a plan without drug coverage by their personal discretion but has to depend on the discretionary power of the Medigap policy issuing company. On the other hand, the recipient reserves the right for removal of drug coverage from his/her existing Medigap insurance policy and chooses for retention of all other medical benefits as per policy norms.

Plan D premium amount is slightly lesser than premium value of plan F, which is amounting to $20-$25; the premium value of Medigap insurance plan D is approximately $13.00 per month which is lesser than Medigap plan C.

It is always wise to avail professional suggestion of an expert insurance agent before selection of a particular Medigap insurance plan, otherwise it is somehow difficult to evaluate the benefits and mileage and appropriateness of a specific Medigap insurance plan with an existing Medicare Health Insurance policy.
